It

It weighed me down. Hadn’t

any knowledge of the feeling, but

it crept. Slowly slithered its way

out the sepulcher. Hunting,

Searching –

for me.

It attacked –

gently grabbing my ankle,

crawling up up up

unto me.

I didn’t fight. Finally,

having company brought fleeting warmth.

This thing would consume me.

It leeched onto me, sucking the

blood out, withered every pulsating vein.

Sustenance coated its belly, digesting away

each part of me. Poisoning my heart,

attacking my mind. How could I

have let in such evil?

It whispered many things.

Not good enough, not

pretty, not thin, too

worthless, no love,

You will die alone.

It possessed me.

I belonged to it.

Wither… my existence withered away.

Faded into the shades of the abyss.

It slowly slithered back into the sepulcher

with me. It never had to search again.
